Butterfly effect

In simple words term means "A flap of butterfly wings can create tiny changes in atmosphere that can ultimately cause unpredictable events such as can cause a tornado to appear (or prevent a tornado from appearing)." Theoretically we can put it as "Small change in initial conditions may produce large variations in long terms".

Here I want to put how this theory can be applied in our day today lives.
In his famous Stanford Commencement Speech Steve Jobs talks about "connecting dots looking backward". Had he not dropped out of college and not attended calligraphy classes, we wouldn't have noticed those fine calligraphy fonts in Mac(and ultimately in Windows, as he says!). A small decision in Steve's life results in major change in software industry. If we all try to peep in our past lives and try to connect the dots, try to understand meaning of small small things in past, steps we have taken and effect of those in our current lifetime. You may notice that it were small things only that have mattered most.

A German movie "Run Lola Run"(Lola Rennt) has beautifully depicted "Butterfly Effect". It's a movie about 20 minutes in life of a girl called Lola. Some almost sub-conscious actions of her leads to large changes in her life as well as other people around her. As a example, while running Lola meets a guy on bicycle, who offers her the bicycle, which is apparently stolen or something of that sort. In one sequence she scolds him, which leads in the guy crashing onto someone and then being beggar on street in his later life. In other sequence she herself crosses the guy, Lola apologises and it turns out that the guy sales his bicycle to other character in movie. But effects of previous sequence are undone.
There is another movie "Butterfly effect". It's loosely based on same theory. But it primarily focuses on effects of events on lead characters in the movie, there are no changes in surrounding environment.

Ohhk, enough for today :) .... Just remember, small things count!
